By making this booking you are entering into an agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions of booking below.
Prices and Deposit
The price of the accommodation includes the following:
Electricity, linen, cleaning, hot water, central heating, use of items on the room trays in the bedrooms and the toiletries provided. Your booking will be confirmed in writing, by post or email, upon receipt of a £20 non-refundable deposit, payable by cheque, interbank transfer or credit/debit card.
As a thatched property smoking causes a significant additional fire hazard so for this reason and for the comfort of other guests Amberley is a non-smoking establishment. Contradicting this condition may result in you being asked to leave and a deep cleaning surcharge of £50 being levied.
Sorry, we do not allow pets at this property.
Room suitability, Acceptance of Children and Child Safety
Haytor and Woodland bedrooms are ideal for two adults sharing or single guests.
Dartmoor is also perfect for two adults sharing, whether using the super king sized bed or preferring a twin bed arrangement.
Children of all ages are welcomed to sleep in the bunk bedded en suite room and/or sofa bed or cot provided within the room. Restraints are fitted to all windows in Dartmoor Suite. It's important to stress that the house's environment is unsuitable for mobile toddlers due to an unguarded staircase and a wood burning stove.
The acceptance of children will be at the owner's discretion but responsibility for their supervision and safety is entirely the parents'/guardians'.
By making your booking, our agreement is a legal contract and your deposit is non-refundable.
If you do need to cancel it’s appreciated if you can provide as much notice as possible.
A notice period of 48 hours or greater only incurs the loss of your deposit.
If you cancel, or fail to notify us of your intention not to honour your booking within 48 hours of your intended stay you will be invoiced for the full value of your booking.
Non-availability of Accommodation
We would only cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would however attempt to offer you alternative accommodation. If this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you for your stay at Amberley. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.
Your accommodation will be available to you from 4pm on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged.
Late arrival procedure
Please ensure you contact us no later than 6pm to let us know if you will be arriving after 8pm. Failure to notify us may result in the room being offered to another guest and/or you being charged for late cancellation.
Please be ready to leave the accommodation by 10am on the day of departure, unless otherwise arranged. We will provide you with an invoice, payable on departure for any balance payment and/or additional services you may have used during your stay.
Damages and Breakages
Please take care when staying in our property. You are responsible and liable for any breakages, spillages or other damage, which you cause, to the accommodation or its contents. We ask that you kindly report any incidents as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor accidents, but we may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant.
We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves, our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment although in relation to children please see above section on Room suitability, Acceptance of Children and Child Safety.
Any data collected during the course of this booking will be stored on our computer but will not be shared with any third party. With your permission (requested on the Registration Form, to be completed on arrival) we may from time to time contact you about promotions and offers.
